Department of Economics           

        This Department was established in June 1971 under the headship of Mrs. Mangala Naik. Shri Landage A.B. worked as the Head for some years. Shri B. B. Gaikwad worked as a Head from 1982 to March 2012. Shri D. S. Chonde is the present Head of the Department.

        The Department has established Planning Commission in the College. Guest Lectures of experts are arranged under this Commission. The Department actively involved in “COHSSIP” Scheme sponsored by U.G.C.

        A District Level Workshop on “Free Economy” was organized by the Department. Various economical surveys has been carried on and supervised by this Department Thus the Department is actively involved in academic and Research activities.

        Shri B. B. Gaikwad also worked as In-Charge-Principal of the College for one year during 1995-96. He has worked as N.S.S. Programme Officer as well as in Adult Education Unit. He has been awarded by the University for his excellent work in N.S.S. He has worked on various academic bodies of University like Board of Studies, Examination Committee, and Faculty member of Social Sciences etc. He is the founder member and director of Champavati Urban-Co-Operative Bank, Beed since its establishment. Shri D. S. Chonde has been working as Vice-Principal of the College since 2010. He has worked on Board of Studies as Copt Member. Shri B. B. Gaikwad is often invited in N.S.S. Camps as a Guest faculty. Thus along with the teaching, the Department is also involved in administrative and extension services
